You want to receive updates on your order?

Each mug is entirely handmade: shaped, dried, fired twice and glazed with care. Because of this slow process, production can take time. I understand you might want to stay updated, which is why I offer optional email updates throughout your mug’s journey.

How the update emails work

During checkout you can choose whether you’d like to receive updates by email.

If you opt in, here’s what to expect:

• You’ll receive gentle updates at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after your order date, if your mug has not yet been shipped.

• Each email lets you know that I’m still working on your mug and gives a small look behind the scenes of the process.

• You can always reply to these emails to ask where your mug is in the process, I’ll happily check and let you know.

What happens after 6 weeks

Most mugs are ready to ship within 3–6 weeks.

If, for any reason, your mug is not shipped after 6 weeks, I’ll personally email you with a detailed update.

In that email, you can choose what feels best for you:

1. Continue waiting: I’ll give you a realistic new estimated shipping date.

2. Receive a partial refund: if the mug is finished but has a small imperfection (and is still safe to use), I’ll send a photo first. You’ll receive a 50% refund if you’d still like to keep it.

3. Cancel your order – you’ll receive a full refund right away.

The stages your mug goes through

To give you an idea of how long handmade ceramics take, here’s a short overview of the process your mug follows:

1. Being made – The clay is shaped by hand and the handle is attached.

2. Drying – The mug slowly air-dries for about 10 days.

3. Bisque firing – The first kiln firing hardens the clay and prepares it for glazing.

4. Being glazed – I apply the glaze and underglaze colours; then it’s fired again at a higher temperature.

5. Out of glaze firing – The mug has its final colours and finish.

6. Packed & ready to ship – Each mug is carefully wrapped and ready for its journey to you.
